Shared Knowledge Literacy Foundation

We are a 501(c)-3 non-profit public charity.  Our goal is to provide funding for literacy and educational programs that are so desperately needed.

Shared Knowledge is a charity based in the Richmond, VA area. Our organization was founded in 2007 with a vision and a cardboard box full of books from the Richmond library. We have become a major source of funds for groups like the Friends of the Library and non-profit organizations.

Thank you to Goodwill Industries of Richmond Virginia for the article about our partnership. It’s a pleasure to continue working together to the benefit of both of our charities’ missions.

Powhatan Summer Reading 5-25-2015

The last outing of the Summer reading program. The kids gathered at the Powhatan Farmer’s Market and were entertained by the 4H club with animals and a story read on the grass outside. All children who participated in the story time event were also given a free book donated by our charity.

The next adventure in Summer Reading was led by AWARE, an animal rescue group. The kids got to meet several new animal friends and take home a free book from Shared Knowledge. Powhatan Libraries have done a wonderful job organizing  these fun and educational events.  Courthouse Coffee & Creamery also provided free ice cream to sweeten the deal.

More outdoor reading fun at the Powhatan State Park. The kids learned more about the outdoors with the help of animal friends, the park rangers, and our donated books.
